It was my first time participating in iStep in Elbasan, while the others on the team already had experience. I was excited to see what awaited me—new people, a new environment, and the opportunity to work with young people. From the very first moment, I felt the open and warm atmosphere, both within the team and among the children and young people who participated in our Scratch course.

It was impressive to see how quickly the participants grasped concepts and implemented their own ideas. The excitement in their eyes when a game they had programmed themselves worked was an incredible feeling!

Right next to the school is the A2B Center—a place where children can eat, get help with their homework, and simply spend time together. I found it particularly nice to see how many children consider this place their second home and feel comfortable there. A2B is an important resource that offers stability and support to many young people.

After our intensive theory and practical sessions, supplemented by Kahoot quizzes, we often went to restaurants with the iStep team. One day, Maxim, Petre, and I even went on a short hike, which gave us an even better insight into Albania's culture, way of life, and impressive natural surroundings.

I was particularly impressed by Alketa, the director of A2B. She was born in Albania and witnessed both communism and its collapse. For many years, she has dedicated her life to helping children and young people in need of support. Her story moved me deeply, and it is inspiring to see how her passion and commitment give so many young people a future.

The children's enthusiasm during our Scratch course was contagious. It was great to see them programming with curiosity and joy, solving problems and developing their own creative ideas. This week was a special experience for me – I am grateful to have been a part of it and hope that our work has made a small contribution to their future.
